The Northborough Garden Club has a few suggestions as we head into August and the days are becoming shorter but gardens are full of flowers and vegetables! Here are a few things to consider this month:
- If you like Brussel Sprouts, now is the time to plant the seeds. Tiny heads will mature in cold weather and be ready for your Thanksgiving table.
- Order spring bulbs for fall planting. Squirrels and rabbits don’t eat daffodils!
- If you are a home gardener who wants a little support to allow you to have a better garden, consider the Home Horticulture Lecture Series. Classes are held at Brigham Hill Barn in North Grafton September1 1 to November 20. Every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 you will learn how to build great soil, basic landscape design, perennial selection, and care and combating weeds, and pests. No tests, no homework!
