The event will be held in person at Algonquin Regional High School, Northborough, MA
The Northborough Junior Women’s Club (NJWC) is excited for their annual “Women in STEM Conference” for middle school girls. This year the event will be in person! This free conference is open to all 5th to 8th grade girls from Northborough, Southborough, Metro-west, and Worcester areas. The conference seeks to actively engage and empower pre-adolescent girls in STEM workshops presented by dynamic women role models working in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.
This conference is an opportunity for these young women to be exposed to and experience vocations in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
After an opening keynote presentation, the girls will attend four 40-minute interactive hands-on career workshops. Presenters represent fields such as Forensic Chemistry, Pharmacy, Architecture, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Teaching, Engineering, and Medical Professions. The presenters explain what they do in their occupation, share different tips on courses of study & ways to train for their profession, and provide hands-on exploration/activities.
