Northborough Garden Club starts new season

The Northborough Garden Club will open its 2018-2019 season with an exciting program to be held on Tuesday, September 4 at 6:30 pm at the Northborough Free Library located at 34 Main Street.

Betsy Szymczak, President of the Buxton Branch of the American Begonia Society and certified begonia judge, will be presenting “Fancy-Leaved Begonias—But, What about the Flowers?” The discussion will include the discovery of this large genus and what makes a begonia a begonia. Begonias are grown primarily for their foliage and Betsy will bring along specimens of the species sure to catch your eye. Information will be shared on the old fashioned varieties, as well as the newer hybrids along with care tips and instructions for propagation.

A business meeting will follow the presentation. New members, potential members and guests are encouraged to attend.
