The theme for this year’s Art on the Trails located at the Elaine and Philip Beals Preserve in Southborough is Marking Territory. The exhibit explores the idea that both animals and humans have ways of creating boundaries in their environment in an attempt at creating a safe place. Mark making in art refers to the lines, patterns, and textures created in a piece of art.
The exhibit opens on Thursday, June 20, from 5:30-7:30 pm (weather permitting and reservations required via Facebook) and will end on Sunday, September 22 with a poetry reading from 3-5 pm.
A map, directions, names of local and regional exhibiting artists, and parking information can all be found on the website. Additional information can be found on the Facebook page.
The 4th annual event is co sponsored by Northborough Cultural Council, Southborough Cultural Arts Council, Massachusetts Cultural Council, Southborough Open Land Foundation, and Southborough Community Fund.
For GPS purposes, use 144 Main Street, Southborough and follow signs to the parking area.
Poetry submissions based on your response to the exhibit or about the exhibit are being accepted through July 31. All information can be viewed on the website.
