The Northborough Community Affairs Committee is pleased to announce that the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting will be held on Saturday, December 7. The celebration will begin at 5 pm and will take place at the corner of Blake Street and Main Street. This year’s celebration will feature a children’s chorus singing holiday carols, holiday bells for children to ring, a festive photo booth and a collection for Toys for Tots. The hot cocoa and cookies are being donated by Metrowest Painting. Pizza is being donated by Northboro House of Pizza. Monetary donations for the pizza will be donated to the Northborough Food Pantry.
The annual tree lighting began in 1968 in honor of the memory of Neil Ellsworth, an Army private first class, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967 at the age of 19.
This event will be the grand finale to the 14th Annual Northboro Holiday Trolley. The Trolley is a ride up and down Main Street from 12-5 pm, sponsored by local merchants and small businesses. A raffle will be held at the tree lighting for those patrons who participated in the trolley collecting raffle tickets from retailers and restaurants along the route. For more information on the holiday trolley, please visit their website.
Thank you to the holiday tree lighting sponsors: Anthony Andrew Jewelers, Anthony Joseph Real Estate, Avidia Bank, Lorna Helms-Realtor, and Jacob Stein Cosmetic and Family Dentistry.
