The Northborough Free Library, located at 34 Main Street, Northborough, MA, is pleased to announce new operating hours beginning January 23, 2020.
The Library will be open an addition evening per week and will be open from 5:00 – 8:30 pm on Thursday evenings. Working in collaboration with Town Administration for the Town of Northborough, the Library’s Board of Trustees recently approved a plan to restore Thursday evening hours, which were eliminated more than ten years ago during the recession. The library is hiring two additional part-time Library Assistants in order to support the increased hours and provide coverage at each of its three main service desks.
The Library’s hours of operation as of January 23, 2020 will be as follows:
Monday: 12-8:30 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 9:30 am – 8:30 pm, Friday and Saturday: 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. The library is closed on Sundays.
The additional hours will allow local residents and others to take advantage of all the programs and services offered by the Library, including access to our circulating collections, public computers and equipment, meeting and study rooms, as well as library-sponsored programs and events.
Library Director Chris Lindquist commented “the restoration of hours has been a long-term goal of the library and I am very pleased we were able to come up with a sustainable plan to restore Thursday evening hours to our ongoing hours of operation, in collaboration with Town Administrator John Coderre and the library’s Board of Trustees and staff. These additional hours will provide increased access to all of the resources provided by the library, including use of all of our meeting and study rooms an additional evening per week.”
The Library will be open its current hours of operation until the new hours take effect.
