In response to the current COVID-19 outbreak, many medical practices have shifted to a Telehealth appointment model where patients use devices to attend appointments with their doctors from their own homes. However, many elderly patients lack access to smart devices needed to access virtual appointments. Telehealth for Seniors is a student-run organization that aims to collect used devices that can connect seniors to necessary virtual medical appointments. The organization is collecting old iPads, iPhones, and tablets for elderly patients, so they can FaceTime or use telehealth apps to attend doctor’s appointments.
We are specifically donating to the Bedford Veterans Assocation, which is the largest nursing home in the country. As of today, they have asked us for 100 devices!
If you are interested in donating a device, please fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScRCqQN6pih-ii2g7xAk1haHTqVYQPhixMpmpyiSZphHco4jg/viewform
A volunteer will then contact you to arrange picking up your device or having you ship it to them.
