The Northborough Applefest Committee is keeping the tradition of the fall festival alive, but it will be a little different than in past years due to the current COVID regulations on crowd size and social distancing. There will be no parade, fireworks or street fair this year.
There are ways to continue the celebration in 2020. Here are some highlights:
- Boros Cares 4 Troops Virtual 5K Road Race and Walk: Register and participate any time between Saturday, Sept 19 – Sunday, Sept. 27. Proceeds support programs such as Hometown Heroes and Senior Veteran Care packages.
- Friends of the Northborough Library Book Sale: Saturday, Sept. 26 from 9:30 am – 4 pm. Book prices will be $1/book, kids paperbacks/50 cents, and $2/DVDs.
- American Legion Chicken BBQ: Purchase your $12 tickets ahead of time at the American Legion located at 402 W. Main Street on Thursdays and Saturdays 3-7 pm. Pick up will be on Saturday, Sept. 26, 4-6 pm.
- The Rotary Club of Northborough is unable to hold their annual street fair, but they are holding a virtual trivia night. $20 per participant and up to 10 people per team.
- The Farmers Market is virtual this year. The Applefest page link will bring you to the direct link for vendors to purchase some of your favorite items including gourmet popcorn, spices, hot sauces, and maple syrup.
- Everyone is encouraged to support our local restaurants and businesses.
