Northborough Affordable Homeownership Opportunity

The Habitat for Humanity Metrowest/Greater Worcester chapter is now accepting homeownership applications for their 24 Hitching Post Lane, Northborough homeownership opportunity.

A new application is required for each of their builds.

Full applications can be downloaded. Please skip the pre-qualification form and go directly to the application only. The deadline is Monday, November 2, 2020.

The home is a single family condo with 2 bedrooms, 2-1/2 baths. It’s an end unit with 1,458 square feet of living space with a vaulted ceiling on the first floor. Additional information on the house includes:

  • Built in 1998, fully updated interior
  • Vinyl siding, asphalt roof shingles and double-pane windows
  • Elevated deck in backyard, facing woods
  • 1 car garage with opener, off-street parking for an additional car
  • Full, walk-out basement and attic access for storage
  • Appliances include – range, microwave/fan, fridge, dishwasher, clothes washer & dryer
  • Forced hot air heating system using natural gas fuel, electric domestic hot water tank
  • Private well water and shared private septic system
  • Condo Association responsibilities

Some Important Eligibility Requirements:

  • You are a first time homebuyer.
  • You have a need for affordable housing (i.e. where you are is unsafe, hazardous to your health, too small for your family size, or costs more that 50% of your income).
  • Your annual income falls between 30 – 60% of the Area Median Income Range for Middlesex County.
  • We offer homes that fit the families need at the current time, not for the possible needs of the future.
  • You are willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester to become a successful home owner. (Examples of partnership include participation in homeownership courses and completion of sweat equity hours on your own home or another Habitat for Humanity project).
