Girl Scouts Bronze Award project: Virtual 5K to benefit Abby’s House

Grab your sneakers (or your bike)! Northborough Girl Scouts Troop 64736 is working on their Bronze Award-a virtual 5K to be held on or before Sunday, May 2 to benefit Abby’s House in Worcester.

Ways to participate:

  • Register for the Virtual 5K. Registration is $10 per participant. You have the option to complete the 5k at any point before May 2, 2021. An option for Northborough residents on Saturday, May 1 at 9:30 am is to complete three laps around the Little Pond Road neighborhood for the 5k distance. NOTE: ALL safety and social distancing measures must be followed including mask wearing.
  • Online donations can be made.

Abby’s House provides shelter, affordable housing, advocacy and support to homeless, battered, low-income women with and without children.

The Bronze Award is the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can earn. Projects are based on the Troop choosing to make a difference in their community.

The Troop is compromised of fifth graders from Peaslee School, Lincoln Street School, Zeh School and St. Bernadette’s School. Members are Alaia Phillips, AJ Soens, Clara Reade, Clara Campbell, Jane Campbell, Leona Azar, Samone Tromblay, Sarah Campbell, and Yasahmin Rowe.
