School textile bins raised over $6,000

Recycling your textiles using the Bay State Textiles collection bins permanently placed at all the Northborough and Southborough public schools is working. Not only is it saving the environment, but it is also raising funds for the school parent teacher organizations (PTOs). The individual school PTOs in Northborough and the Southborough Organization for Schools (SOS) benefit from the donations and receive monthly donations based on the weight of collections. In 2021, 128,775 pounds of textiles were collected resulting in over $6,000 to the PTOs and SOS.

View the list of acceptable and unacceptable items to donate.  You now have a place for those single socks and stuffed animals!

Items must be clean and dry and placed in plastic bags. If the bins are full, please do not leave bags outside of the bin. Items are reused, repurposed and recycled.
