Peaslee School clothing drive benefits Cradles to Crayons

Marguerite E. Peaslee Elementary School will be participating in a clothing drive to benefit Cradles to Crayons (C2C).

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Co-Chair Erin Tagliaferri said that the most needed items are new or like new coats and pajamas, as well as new masks.

The community is invited to donate items from Wednesday, January 12-Friday, January 21 at Peaslee School lobby located at 31 Maple Street, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (Please note the school is closed on Monday, January 17 due to Martin Luther King Day.)

Peaslee families will be volunteering at the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory on Saturday, January 22. They will assist with processing and packaging donations, which will be distributed to local disadvantaged children.

Tagliaferri said that Peaslee families volunteered several years ago at C2C.

“We chose C2C because they really allow the children to help in the giving factory- cleaning sneakers, sorting and packaging donations to help other children in need,” she said.

COVID restrictions have limited their ability to plan any additional family volunteering efforts.
