Senior Center continues to offer programs

The Northborough Senior Center located at 119 Bearfoot Road has a variety of programs offered throughout the month. Be sure to check with the Senior Center of any schedule changes due to increased COVID restrictions that may postpone events. View the January issue of the Northborough Times. Here are a few highlights:

  • Technology Tuesdays: January 25, 3:30-4:30 p.m. One-on-one help on all your technology questions (e-readers, laptops, cellphones, iPads for example) is given by Algonquin Regional High School student volunteers.
  • iPads are available to borrow along with technology tutors so you can learn Zoom or Facetime to help you stay in touch with family and friends from the comfort of your home. Call the Senior Center for more information
  • Dull Men’s Club is looking for a few more dull men (who are really not boring, dull or grumpy at all) who celebrate the ordinary. Share thoughts and experiences, free from glitz and glam, free from pressures to be in and trendy. It’s an opportunity to hang out and chat (serious politics and religion topics are not allowed.) The club meets on Wednesdays, 10-11 a.m.
  • Tax Return Assistance will be offered by appointments for Tuesday, January 18 as available. AARP Taxaide will again prepare federal and state income tax returns for low and moderate income taxpayers at the Northborough Senior Center. If anyone is interested in volunteering with Taxaide, please call Frank at 585-260-4303.
  • Metrowest Legal Services (MWLS) provides free civil legal aid to low-income families, seniors and victims of crime who would be denied justice without assistance. Practice areas include Family Law, Housing, Homeless Advocacy, Government Benefits (including Social Security), Education, Elder Law and Immigration. Contact the Senior Center for additional information at 508-393-5035.
