Electronics recycling event to benefit youth group

It’s time to recycle those electronics that have been accumulating in the corner of your basement or garage! St. Rose of Lima located at 244 West Main Street will be hosting an Electronics & Appliance Recycling fundraiser on Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the parking lot. All proceeds will benefit the parish’s Youth Service League, a teen volunteer organization of about 30 students who are dedicated to serving the needs of others in local communities, and their summer service trips.

Electronics varying in size from flash drives to refrigerators will be accepted for a small fee. A complete list of prices will be available at the event. Cash or check will be accepted.

Examples of prices include :

  • $2-$5 for flash drives, keyboards, cell phones, small digital cameras, small handheld devices and controllers
  • $10 for small household appliances like microwave ovens toasters, computer printers, large speakers, DVD players
  • $15 for computer monitors (flat screen)
  • $20 for computer monitors (tube) and televisions below 24”
  • $25 for large household appliances like refrigerators and freezers
  • $30 for televisions 24″ and above
  • $35 for wood console or projection televisions.

Please no bulbs, batteries, or items containing fuel.

The collection is provided by Data Recycling New England.

The event will be held rain or shine.
