The highly popular family lake beach at Lake Chauncy in Westborough will open this summer. Due to a lifeguard shortage, however, it will not be staffed. The beach has always been available to Westborough and Northborough residents.
The lake officially opens on Monday, June 27 and for ease of access will have gates open Monday-Friday to swim at your own risk as follows:
- Mondays: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Tuesdays: 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Wednesdays: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Thursdays 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Fridays: 7:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
There will be no fee to use the beach. The beach will close on Friday, August 12.
The water will be tested weekly by the Westborough Board of Health.
