Household Hazardous Waste collection day announced

The Town of Northborough has announced it will host a Household Hazardous Waste collection day on Saturday, October 29, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. The event will take pace at the Department of Public Works Garage located at 190 Main Street and is for Northborough residents only. No commercial vehicles or commercial waste is allowed.

Be sure to purchase your waste boxes for $10 prior to the event. This fee will help to defray the program costs. Boxes can be purchased in the basement of Town Hall on Tuesday, October 18, 7 p.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday, October 22, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.; Tuesday, October 25, 7 p.m. -9 p.m. Boxes are limited so distribution will be on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be asked for a photo identification for proof of address.

Also, please note:

  • Northborough Junior Woman’s Club will be collecting at no charge clean #6 PS Styrofoam (EPS) and #4 LDPE/Spongy Foam. All labels and tape should be removed. (Packing peanuts and food containers are not acceptable). Email questions to njwcenvironment@NorthboroJuniors.org.
  • Sharps will be collected at no charge. Please note, sharps are accepted through the Health Department throughout the year by calling 508-393-5040 x 4 with any questions.
  • Metal items, with the exception of electronics, including computers, refrigerators and microwaves, will be collected with no charge.
