CPR Classes available to residents

Be Well Northborough has added five additional CPR/AED Certification Courses available to Northborough residents for $30. Upon completion of the course, you will be a certified Heartsaver CPR/AED for 2 years from the date of the class. Classes are on-site, in person trainings held in the conference room of the Northborough Free Library, 34 Main Street.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Classes are expected to fill quickly and wait lists formed.

Dates include March 21, 6-8 p.m.; April 22, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.; April 25, 6-8 p.m.; May 16, 6-8 p.m.; June 3, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.; June 13, 6-8 p.m.

Heather Welch works as a full-time nurse and part time as an American Heart Association instructor. She has been teaching CPR/AED and first aid to the community for over 15 years.  She has a passion for teaching others as she has over 25 years of medical experience. Her prior experience as a paramedic combined with her nursing skills have enabled her to teach students of all ages and backgrounds.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking with her two Jack Russell Terriers Zoey and Cooper, and cycling.
FACT:  About 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes. About 46 percent of people who experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest receive the immediate help that they need before professional help arrives.
