Have you noticed an exceptional tree in your neighborhood? Maybe it’s a sycamore on Davis St., or the beech tree on the White Cliffs property? The Legacy Tree Program of Massachusetts and the National Champion Tree Registry highlights the largest, most unique, and historically significant trees of each species, and acknowledges their importance to Massachusetts. Managed state-wide within the Mass. Department of Conservation and Recreation Forestry (DCR), this agency maintains a database that contains information on the largest and most unique trees in Massachusetts, and you can nominate one to be evaluated for inclusion in the registry.

On Saturday, February 10th at 1:00pm the Northborough Garden Club invites you to learn about the Legacy Tree Program at the Northborough Free Library. Denise Lewis, a graduate student working on the DCR team will educate us on the program, nearby legacy and champion trees, and how we can go about nominating a tree in our area.

The presentation is open to the public. Since 1925, the Northborough Garden Club strives to promote, encourage and foster an active interest in gardening, horticulture, beautification of the home and community, local civic projects and conservation. Please visit our website at www.northboroughgardenclub.com for more information and to sign-up for the presentation.
