Northborough Junior Woman’s Club is partnering with the Northborough Lions Club to hold a Rise Against Hunger meal packaging event on Saturday, May 11 from 8:30-10:30 am to be held at Trinity Church located at 23 Main Street.
Rise Against Hunger is a growing coalition of hunger champions, who are committed to ending hunger for everyone, everywhere. The event is set up so that 20-40 volunteers can package 10,000 meals in two hours!
How can you help?
To hold the event, there is a cost for the ingredients that are packed. Meals consist of rice, beans and a vitamin packet and cost $.34/meal. The goal is to pack approximately 10,000 meals. Community support through organizations and local families is needed.
If you would like to volunteer on May 11, advance sign-up is requested. This is not a drop-in event. Volunteers should plan on working the entire two hours of the event. Children over 4 years old are welcome to assist.
