The Northborough Southborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council (NSPAC) in conjunction with the Shrewsbury and Westborough Special Education Parent Advisory Councils, are hosting a presentation, Massachusetts Anti-bullying Law: IEP and Schoolwide Strategies to Prevent Bullying of Students with Disabilities on Thursday, October 3 starting at 6:30 pm at the Floral Street School Media Center, 57 Floral Street in Shrewsbury.
The presenter will be Leslie Hughes, an Autism Center Public Information Specialist through the Autism Special Education Legal Support Center at Massachusetts Advocates for Children.
The workshop will address the significant changes in special education practice that are a result of the state’s anti-bullying prevention law, focusing on both school-wide efforts to create safe and supportive school environments for students with disabilities and statutory provisions that require IEP teams to address bullying of students with disabilities.
