When out for a walk one day with her friend Leslie, more than ten years ago, Andrea Houser mentioned that she had always wanted to start a resale shop. “So have I!” exclaimed Leslie. And thus was born Next to New, a resale shop with a purpose.
Next to New is not a consignment shop. Instead, each month, Leslie and Andrea donate a portion of proceeds to a selected charity—everything from Pancreatic Cancer Research to the Veteran’s Fund to the Food Pantry to a homeless shelter. Next to New accepts donations of gently used, clean and up-to-date clothing (Women’s, Men’s and children up to size 4T) and small house decor. Donations can be dropped off at the store any day, and in any season. And if you love a bargain, there’s no better place to shop. Whether you’re looking for a vintage find, a deal on a designer handbag or shoes, the kind of dress you will only wear once, or a few extra staples for your business wardrobe, Next to New has a great selection at even better prices. Check out the $1 rack for special bargains, or find everyday pants and shirts for a typical price of $5 each. You never know what kind of a deal you’ll find when something is “Next to New.”
For the month of October, Next to New proceeds will support the Northborough Education Foundation.
