Algonquin Regional High School seniors graduated on June 6. View the recorded ceremony and join in to congratulate the Class of 2021 as they begin a new chapter of their lives! (The ceremony starts around the 33 minute mark on the recording.)
Northborough Southborough Public Schools Superintendent Greg Martineau referenced a story about Einstein, who lost his train ticket. Although people around him told him that they knew who he was without it, he needed his train ticket to know where he was going.
“It’s okay not to know where you are headed,” said Martineau. “You may have your train ticket punched for college, the military or career. What is important is to enjoy the train ride, connect with other passengers along your journey, learn from those who you meet, and set goals for a destination. If you lose your way or your ticket, rely on those conductors around you to support your goals and help you find your way…There are always people who will help you along your travels.”
Class President David Gillingham had inspiring words for his fellow classmates.
“We all have unique and valuable gifts,” he said. “Pursue them to your own satisfaction but at the same time make sure to use them to help others along the way. Whatever you do, do it with passion, do it with humility. So step up and take your rightful place in this world….never relinquish your voice to someone else…This is an exciting yet intimidating time, but fear should not stop us from drafting our own adventures.”
Principal Sean Bevan wished the Class of 2021 good luck as they take on the next challenges life presents them. His advice was to “step outside your comfort zones and accept the help you need when you need it.”
He was happy that a more traditional ceremony was able to be held to end what has been a challenging year.
