Does your dog have a license?

The Town of Northborough would like to remind all town residents who own a dog over the age of six months to ensure it has a dog license. This is per Massachusetts General Law 137. In addition, a license helps to control and prevent the spread of rabies and makes it easier to identify lost dogs and return them to their owners.

It’s easy to register your dog online. Once payment is received, the license and tag will be mailed to you. If you no longer have a dog that was previously licensed in town, please contact the Town Clerk’s office at townclerk@town.northborough.ma.us or 508-393-5001 to update the records.

The license process can also be completed in person during regular town hall business hours in the Town Clerk’s office.

Cost is $15 for spay/neutered dogs or $20 intact dogs.

A Rabies Certificate and spay/neuter certificates can be emailed to townclerk@town.northborough.ma.us if not already on file.
