The Northboro Junior Woman’s Club and the Northboro Rotary Club are co-sponsoring an event to support UNICEF on Saturday, December 1.
The event primarily aims to raise awareness about the issue and help people take meaningful action to prevent this horrific form of exploitation.
A movie produced by UNICEF USA titled “Not My Life” will be shown. It depicts human trafficking and emphasizes that it is happening everywhere. It also shows ways we can help, including buying fair trade food and clothing items. Fair Trade certified means that all people who work to produce an item is paid a fair wage and is not slave labor.
Items made by survivors will be for sale at the event.
A lunch will also be served with Fair Trade foods.
Come and learn more about what you can do. The event will take place at the Northborough Senior Center, 119 Bearfoot Road, starting at 12 noon.
Reservations are required and a free will donation is suggested to benefit UNICEF USA.
