Have you ever wondered about the origination, health or history of the Assabet River as you travel through Northborough, Westborough or Marlborough?  Come join The Northborough Garden Club on Tuesday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m. at The Northborough Library, 34 Main Street and have your questions answered.

Allison Field of OARS will be speaking on “The Assabet River:  Flowing Forward.” Learn about the 320 foot working river which has served as a vacation spot and power source in the past and the challenges it faces to ensure its future.

Guests are welcome.

OARS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to protect, improve and preserve the Assabet, Sudbury, and Concord Rivers, their tributaries and watersheds, for public recreation, water supply, and wildlife habitat. Established in 1986 as the Organization for the Assabet River by a group of concerned citizens, OAR added the Sudbury and Concord Rivers to its mission in 2011, becoming OARS.
