The Northborough Police Association is sponsoring a blood drive on Friday, October 4 at the Church of Nativity located at 45 Howard Street from 1-6 pm.
Officers will be on hand to greet you.
Some facts about blood donation from the American Red Cross:
- One donation can potentially save 3 lives
- Blood and platelets cannot be manufactured; they can only be donated by volunteers.
- Every three seconds someone in the United States needs blood.
- Blood donations help accident and burn victims, cancer and chronic disease patients, and heart surgery and organ transplant patients.
- Approximately 36,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the United States.
