Are there hemlocks on your property that appear to be suffering the effects of the wooly adelgid? Interested in climate change and its impact on the New England forest? Enjoy art and ecology and their point of intersection? Join The Northborough Garden Club on Tuesday, May 7 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Northborough Free Library located at 34 Main Street for a discussion with David Buckley Borden.
David is an interdisciplinary artist and designer. He will be speaking on the Hemlock Hospice project, an art-based interpretive trail which he conceived in Harvard Forest in Petersham. It addressed the continuing demise of the eastern hemlock due to the infestation of the wooly adelgid. While the project itself ended in late 2018, David will speak to its detail and share information on the design and development of the trail.
David studied landscape architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and worked as a designer at Sasaki Associates.
Members and guests are welcome to join us for an evening of humor, ecology and environmental education.
