The Northborough Historical Society will hold it’s monthly meeting on Friday, February 28.
Past Northborough Historical Society Historian Robert Ellis will present “The Scholar and the Slaves”, a program highlighting William Allen, the youngest and most brilliant of Dr. Allen’s seven children. During the Civil War, William went south to teach slaves and later with two companions compiled the first book of slave songs.
The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Society building located at 52 Main Street.
The event is free and open to the public.
