Talamonti Moda – “Montepulciano” This is a vibrant and fruity wine with violets on the nose and cherry, raspberry and plum in the mouth. The tannins are soft and firm… a great daily drinker.
Pesquie Terrasses Rouge – 2015 was a great Rhone Vintage, and this wine falls in step. This 60/40 Grenache/Syrah is medium bodied with silky tannins. It’s bold with black raspberry, licorice and garrigue spice. 92pts Spectator
Talamonti kudos – A bistro red blended from Montepulciano and Merlot. The tannins are soft and silky while the fruit is full and forward. Parker gave it 91pts, and the ability to age over 10yrs in the cellar.
Parducci Cabernet Sauvignon – This is a bold but well-balanced wine with densely fruity aromas and appealing flavors of pomegranate and blueberry. A layer of fine tannins adds a grippy mouthfeel, making it great with anything roasted or grilled.
Cellar Cecilio Black Slate Priorat – A consistent 90pt’er from WA. August Vicent is not only the proprietor Celler Cecilio, the oldest registered estate in Priorat (established in 1942), but he happens to be a neighbor of Daphne Glorian and Eric Solomon (importer) in the small village of Gratallops. He makes characterful, lush and exotically-spiced wines from his vineyards in the village where the Black Slate Gratallops comes from. It is a blend of Garnatxa Negra, Carinyena, and Syrah.
Burnmeister Sotto Voce Reserve Ruby – A Premium Ruby of around 5 years old. It is made by carefully selecting and blending wines that have been aged over a long period in the cellars. Delicate and young, this wine is marked by its fruity and intense character. It is silky and warm in the mouth, with a long and persistent finish.
