The Northborough Free Library located at 34 Main Street is hosting Sailing Towards My Father, a one-man play performed by Stephen Collins about Herman Melville (1819-1891), the American author best known for his whaling epic Moby-Dick. Written and directed by Carl A. Rossi, the play chronicles Melville’s life from youth to old age, concentrating on his evolution as a writer and his complex relationships with God, his parents and siblings, his wife and children, and Nathanial Hawthorne. A renowned actor, educator, and tour guide, Collins’ performances are captivating, immersive, and informative. This performance is free. Not to be missed!
