The Northborough Historical Society Museum will open for the 2022 spring season on Sundays from 2 -4 p.m. on May 1, 8, 15, 22 and June 5, 12, 19, and 26.
Re-discover tusk fragments from Northborough’s own mastodon, view an oil portrait of Northborough-born Governor John Davis; and see Mary Goodenow’s hourglass from 1707 (Northborough’s only Queen Anne’s War casualty). Other exhibits include schools, medicine, button and comb industries, and military conflicts.
New this year is a special exhibit of 27 paintings by Walter A. Peinze, 1894-1966 in our downstairs meeting hall. Born and educated in Northborough, he painted in oils, watercolors, and pastels in a traditional genre. He was one of five children of Herman M. Peinze, who owned a bakery and grocery store on Blake Street.
While there is no charge for admission, the Historical Society is self-funded and your donations would be appreciated. Don’t forget to sign the guestbook!
