Horizons for Homeless Children is the state’s leading organization devoted exclusively to serving homeless children. They focus on helping young children mitigate the trauma and stress associated with homelessness.
Their Playspace Program provides young children in shelter a safe and dedicated space to play, learn, and have fun! The Playspace includes toys and activities to engage creativity, imagination, physical and social development.
Their Playspaces are staffed with trained, caring, adult volunteers, called PALs (Playspace Activity Leaders), who are committed to providing a positive and nurturing experience for children and families. PALs commit to volunteering at the same time and same shelter location for two hours each week.
Their need for volunteers is more critical than ever as they continue to increase programming across the state. Please visit horizonschildren.org/playspace or scan the QR code in the image below to learn more and apply.
