Parents with special needs have to navigate the special education process with the school district. For those starting the journey, it can be a very confusing and stressful time. This group helps you navigate, supports you, and directs you to resources that will help you through the process. It also gives you the opportunity to network with other parents and having that connection is important. The group is always looking to expand its volunteers and events, including speakers on topics of interest to the group’s members. You can follow them on Facebook, as they share events not only in the Northborough/Southborough district but surrounding areas as they try to collaborate with other Special Ed Parent groups to maximize shared programs, events, and information. Do not feel that you are going through the special education process alone. Reach out to NSPAC.
When we first moved to the area several years ago, I attended an NSPAC coffee and met lots of great parents who helped me navigate the special ed maze. I’ve made friends with other moms who are in my same boat and it’s been great to be able to talk and share with people who understand! I highly recommend joining!
