The Northborough Education Foundation (NEF) is holding an open meeting for the 2017-2018 school year on Tuesday, September 26th in the Melican Middle School library at 7:15 pm.
This is an informational meeting, which is open to the community to learn about NEF, meet the team, and see how you can get involved. The organization is currently seeking school representatives, event coordinators and fundraising volunteers. The commitment is minimal but the results are profound (and it’s a lot of fun!).
NEF is a volunteer run, non-profit organization dedicated to providing Northborough public schools and the community with resources necessary to improve curriculum, programs and services above and beyond the level supported by the annual school budgets. Community support of popular fundraising events such as the Applefest Gala, Trivia Night, Mother/Daughter Princess Tea, and the recent Gala Jr. makes it possible for NEF to achieve its mission. This year, NEF raised $51,000 for the Chromebook Campaign and purchased of over 200 Google Chromebooks for the Northborough School District. In addition to the Chromebook Campaign, NEF raised over $35,000 which was awarded to various grants throughout the school system.
