Library hosts Native Plants Winter Sow Workshop

Let’s “Build a Better Northborough” together and help support our native bees, butterflies, and birds. The Northborough Free Library located at 34 Main Street is hosting a free Native Plants Winter Sow Workshop on Saturday, November 20 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the meeting room. The program will be presented by Gary Phillips of the Watson Park Pollination Preservation Garden.

In this workshop, learn why native plants matter, which pollen and nectar producing plants feed bees from March to October, and how to propagate, care for, and transplant native plants into a garden.  Then, use milk jugs to create propagation containers. Once the plants are ready, you can plant them either on your own property or donate them to the Watson Park Pollination Preservation Garden.

The workshop is free and all are welcome, but you must register to attend.  Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  Please note that masks must be worn at all times while visiting the Library.

The program is funded by a grant from The TJX Corporation and The Friends of the Northborough Library.

Questions can be directed to Deborah Hersh at 508-393-5025 ext. 5.
