Youth Mental Health First Aid Course

Youth Mental Health First Aid Course

Anyone, anywhere can be the one to make a difference in the life of someone with a mental health or substance use challenge – if they know what to do and what to say. Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.

This free course will be offered at Trinity Church located at 34 Main Street in Northborough on Sunday, November 3 and Sunday, November 10 from 3-7 pm. You need to be able to attend both evenings to receive a 3-year certification. Please pre-register by emailing trinitycenorthboro@gmail.com as the class will cap at 25 participants.

Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services has been providing Mental Health First Aid training across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for schools, faith-based organizations, businesses and corporations, police departments, parent groups, and many others. Everyone and anyone can benefit from training in one or more of the multiple designations.
