As part of a new program called “Your Moments: 12 in 12”, Susan Ogar Photography will be giving away a free portrait session each month in 2019. Every month the criteria for the giveaway will change—sometimes contests, sometimes charity-based and more. Be sure to follow Susan Ogar Photography on Facebook for each month’s rules!
For the month of January, the contest is inspired by The Olivia Act — a project started in 2013 by a photographer in Texas, shortly after the Sandy Hook school shootings. She was inspired by the knowledge that one of the families who had lost a child in the tragic shootings had just completed a family portrait session. Knowing how precious and priceless those photos became to that family, she was moved to give away a family photo session—and then created the Olivia Act (named for the little girl whose life was tragically taken) which challenged other photographers to do the same. Susan Ogar Photography obliged, and —moved by the experience—continues the tradition.
If you would like to nominate a family who you think deserves a free portrait session, Susan Ogar is accepting nominations through January 31st. (The session will take place in the spring.) Simply email me info@SusanOgarPhotography.com with their name, contact information and a brief summary of why you are nominating them. The chosen family will be contacted via email.
