Northboro Chiropractic May Patient of the Month: Sam I.

In July 2017, after a heavy weekend of hiking, I woke up with severe back pain, unable to get out of bed. It turns out it was more than a weekend of hiking. It was over 50 years of wear and tear – contact sports into my early 20s, being a weekend warrior for another 15 years, accompanied by a steady decline in exercise, a decrease in stretching, and an increase in prolonged sitting for work, commuting, and rest.

By the time I got to Northboro Chiropractic, I could not stand fully erect and could not walk, stand or sit without pain. A couple of visits later and I was functioning again.

While that made me a believer in the benefits of chiropractic care, my work schedule and life made it difficult for me to get treatment on a regular basis. I would improve, only to tweak my back doing yard work, sitting or twisting a certain way, or playing with my grandson. After each incident, I returned to Dr. Karen for multiple visits over a one or two week period, and then I would revert to my sporadic treatment schedule until my next incident.

After a year of that pattern, I finally have been able to commit to a regular treatment schedule. I have noticed the difference: my back feels more stable, I have not had a relapse of back pain in months, and I’ve had a major reduction in migraine headaches. Plus I am back to engaging in all of the activities I enjoy without worrying about a relapse.

In addition, an added treatment benefit for me in visiting Northboro Chiropractic is to see the happy infants and small children who visit the practice. There’s nothing like smiling, happy babies or children to brighten a day. And with my grandson living over 400 miles away, I don’t get enough of that.

Thanks for literally straightening me out. It has made a big difference and keeps me coming back every 2 weeks. ”
