Northborough Applefest plans are being finalized. Here are some key things to know:
- Congratulations to Jane O’Toole for being named the 2022 Applefest Grand Marshal. Jane has been involved in many community organizations and efforts over the years. She is currently the President of Northborough Helping Hands, a member of the Trinity Church choir, serves on the board of the Northborough Senior Center and will be the co-president of the Northboro Junior Women’s Club.
- Run it or walk it with family and friends! The annual Applefest 5K Race online registration is now open. The race will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. (registration at 8 a.m.). Cost is $35 per person or $25 for students under 18, groups and senior citizens 65+. The race will start and finish at Melican Middle School located at 145 Lincoln Street. Proceeds of the race benefit Boros Cares 4 Troops to help fund scholarships, the Veterans Pantry, the Hometown Heroes program and local outreach to veterans. You also have the option of participating virtually too. Sponsorships are available by contacting Karen@BC4T.org.
- Get your apple recipes ready for the annual bake off.
