Northborough Helping Hands Association Inc. (NHHA) held their holiday outreach program at the Northborough Senior Center on November 21. The drive through event combined their traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas programs. Turkeys with all the fixings were distributed to 123 households in need. Christmas came in the form of red envelopes complete with grocery cards for all and additional gift cards for families to purchase toys and clothing for their children.
The generous donations of individuals, schools, churches, local business and community organizations helped to make this event successful. NHHA is especially grateful to each of the sponsors who purchased a brand new winter coat for 128 children requesting warm winter gear.
Special thanks to St. Bernadette School and Parish, St. Rose of Lima Parish and Thrift Shop, Church of Nativity, Trinity Church, Northborough Lions Club, Northborough Mom’s Group, Northboro Junior Woman’s Club, Northborough Rotary Club, The Northborough Police Association, Northborough Town Hall employees, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions employees, Juniper Hill Golf Course, Abu Construction, Yellick’s Farm, the Northborough Food Pantry and the Northborough Senior Center for their continued support.
“This year was exceptional,” said NHHA Holiday Program Coordinator Colleen Lupien. “We asked people to think about donating funds and gift cards for Christmas in October. The response was amazing! Despite the required masks, we could see the smiles as people drove from station to station to collect their gift cards, pies, coats, food and turkey. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all who helped to make a challenging year for many a little brighter.”
