Northborough Helping Hands Association, Inc. (NHHA) recently was awarded a $3,000 mini grant from Fallon Health. The grant will help to support the organization’s upcoming holiday outreach program.
The purpose of Fallon Health’s Mini Grant program is to fund lower cost projects of value to non-profit organizations within its service area. The focus is on programs assisting communities with food insecurity and senior health initiatives.
NHHA coordinates programs to assist those in need in the form of Thanksgiving meal baskets and food gift cards, Christmas gifts for children and food gift cards for families and senior citizens. The organization also hosts an annual winter coat drive and backpack drive, coordinates free medical equipment loans, and assists with emergency aid for special services.
In November 2020, 123 households received turkeys with all the fixings to assist them for the holiday.
NHHA is a private, non-profit, volunteer-run organization and has been assisting Northborough individuals and families in need since 1920. They work closely with other town agencies, businesses and organizations to meet their goals.
Online donations to support any of the NHHA’s programs are welcomed. It is a recognized 501(c)(3) charity and your donation is tax exempt to the extent of the law. View NHHA’s website at www.northboroughhelpinghands.org or follow on Facebook.
