Northborough Rec Announces Summer Trips

Depart this morning from Melican Middle School, on your luxury Silver Fox Coach for the scenic Massachusetts North Shore. Later this morning, you’ll arrive in Gloucester and board the new and luxurious Beauport Princess Cruise Ship for a delicious buffet (menu below) and cruise. During the course of the 2 1/2 hour cruise, your Captain will provide narration about the sights you will be seeing while you enjoy a bountiful clam bake. Jazz music will be playing for your enjoyment, and you can walk out onto the outside deck if you wish for a salty sea breeze. Your cruise will return to the dock at 2:00pm and then you’ll travel over to nearby Rockport, a most scenic and quaint town, for shopping and sightseeing. What a delightful day on the Massachusetts North Shore! The buffet will feature a New England Clam Bake Menu (subject to change): New England Clam Chowder, Cole Slaw with Homemade Dressing, Saint Joseph’s Bread of the Fishermen, Steamed Lobster, BBQ Chicken (vegetarian option available), Corn on the Cob, Red Bliss Potatoes, Chocolate Mousse.

Your first destination is Point Judith, Rhode Island, where you’ll board your ferry for an invigorating one hour ride to Block Island. Here, you’ll enjoy an 1 1/4 hour tour across the Island with a native Block Island guide. A delicious luncheon also awaits you at the National Hotel. This unique property offers Victorian charm and fine cuisine along with an ocean view. Entrees include Grilled Salmon, Pan Seared Chicken or Seafood Cake, served with salad, starch, vegetable, rolls, dessert & beverage. You’ll also have time to browse the shops and enjoy the atmosphere in this very elegant and beautiful small town. You’ll depart at 4pm, arriving back home at approximately 7pm after a delightful day on Block Island.

Arriving in Portland, you’ll board your ferry for a two hour narrated cruise of Casco Bay, its many islands and the beautiful Maine coast. Your cruise destination today is Bailey Island, where you will have a delicious luncheon at the famous Cook’s Lobster House which overlooks a spectacular view of Casco Bay and the world’s only Cribstone Bridge. Choose fresh seafood from the fantastic menu listed below. After lunch you will board the ferry for a return trip to Portland where you will have time on your own. You’ll return home this evening at approximately 6:30pm after a delightful day in beautiful Downeast Maine! Choose one entrée per guest at registration: Fresh Maine Lobster Roll, Fresh Broiled Haddock Sandwich, Chicken Caesar Salad or Grilled Sirloin.
