November Library programs for kids announced

The Northborough Library Children’s Department has announced it’s programming for the remainder of November. It’s full of virtual and socially distant in-person fun and will keep your toddlers and preschoolers entertained. The list includes story times and music programs. Online registration is required for most programs and masks are required for all in-person events. Zoom links will be shared after registration is confirmed. Please consult the library website for any updates or changes in programming or contact the Library directly at 508-393-5025 x4.

Mondays

  • November 16, 23, 30: Young Scientists with STEM Beginnings, 10-11 am.  A 6-week virtual series for children ages 3-6 that will include STEM concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. This is an interactive class on Zoom and parents/caregivers are encouraged to help their child. Registration each week is required and class size is limited. A list of materials will be provided weekly.

Tuesdays

  • November 10, 17, 24: Preschool Explorers on Zoom, 10-10:30 am. Ms. Carly will hold a Zoom story time designed for preschoolers to explore a STEAM related concept through stories, songs and an activity. Best suited for ages 4-5. Registration required.
  • November 10, 7, 24: Crafternoon Kits, 12 pm. Drop by to pick up the materials for a fun new art project. Videos will be posted on the Library’s YouTube channel and Facebook page each Tuesday to follow along. Kits will be available for pick up from 12-6 pm on Tuesdays or while supplies last.
  • November 10, 24:  PJ Storytime on Zoom, 6:15-6:45 pm. Join Ms. Lindsay for a bedtime themed storytime. Bring your favorite stuffed animal and enjoy cozy stories to end the night right. Best suited for families with children ages 2-6. Please register.
  • November 17: STEAM MegaBytes on Zoom, 4:30-5:30 pm.  School aged children (K-5) will learn about different STEAM aspects with hands-on activities. Registration required to receive information on pick up of supplies.

Wednesdays

  • November 11, 18, 25: Virtual Mother goose on the Loose, 10-10:30 am. A special storytime on Facebook Live for ages birth to 2 years with a caregiver. Join for a story, songs, rhymes, bouncing and fingerplays. Musical instruments, puppets and other props to further children’s early learning skills will be used.

Thursdays

  • November 12, 19: Music Mashup on Zoom, 10-10:30 am. For ages 2-5 and their whole family. Children will explore movement through music, use of instruments and other manipulatives, and a story. Open to all families; please register to receive the Zoom link.

Fridays

  • November 13, 20, 27: Virtual Toddler Time, 10-10:30 am. Enjoy age and developmentally appropriate stories, songs, movement activities and fingerplays to build early literacy skills for children ages 2-3 years old.

Saturdays

  • November 14, 28: Outdoor Pop-Up Children’s Library, 9-11:30 am. Wear your masks and bring your library card. Browse through a huge selection of children’s materials for ages 0-12. One family at a time. Gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided. Don’t forget to read the new story walk. Rain or severe weather will postpone the event.
  • November 28: Diary of a Wimpy Kid Trivia, 2:30-3:30 pm. Celebrate the release of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Deep End with an afternoon of trivia. First place winner will take home their own copy of the new book. Come as a team or on your own. Zoom and Kahoot will be used for this event. All participants will earn an extra Fall Frenzy raffle ticket and badge. Registration required. Families welcome.
