The Northborough Library Children’s Department has announced it’s programming for the remainder of October. It’s full of virtual and socially distant in-person fun and will keep your toddlers and preschoolers entertained. Story times and music programs. Online registration is required for most programs and masks are required for all in-person events. Zoom links will be shared after registration is confirmed.
Tuesdays
- October 27: Preschool Explorers on Zoom, 10-10:30 am. Explore a STEAM related concept through stories, songs and an activity or demonstration. Ages 4-5.
- October 27: Crafternoon Kits, 12 pm. Pick up materials for a fun new art project. Videos will be posted on the library’s YouTube channel and Facebook page to watch. Kits can be picked up from 12-6 pm on Tuesdays while supplies last.
- October 27: PJ Storytime on Zoom, 6:15-6:45 pm. It’s a bedtime themed storytime with Ms. Lindsay. Bring your favorite stuffed animal and enjoy cozy stories to end the night right. Ages 2-6.
Wednesdays
- October 21: Playful Engineers on Zoom, 3:30 pm. The session will be recorded. Kids will learn about the engineering process and make Rube Goldberg machines with items found around the house. A slideshow and tutorials can be viewed prior to the session. Grades K-5.
- October 21 & 28: Outdoor Music Mashup, 1-1:30 pm at Ellsworth McAfee Park pavilion. Ages 2-5. Explore movement through music, use instruments and other manipulatives and enjoy a story together. The event will be held weather permitting.
- October 21 & 28: Mother Goose Flies the Coop, 9-9:30 am at Ellsworth McAfee Park. It’s the outdoor version of Mother Goose on the Loose, an early literacy program for kids ages birth to 2. Story, songs, rhymes, bouncing and fingerplays.
Thursdays
- October 22 & 29: Music Mashup on Zoom, 10-10:30 am. Ages 2-5. Explore movement through music, use instruments and other manipulatives and enjoy a story together.
Fridays
- October 23: Outdoor Music Mashup, 9-9:30 am at Ellsworth McAfee Park pavilion. Ages 2-5. Explore movement through music, use instruments and other manipulatives and enjoy a story together. The event will be held weather permitting.
- October 23 & 30: Virtual Toddler Time, 10-10:30 am via Live Facebook. Ages 2-3. Age and developmentally appropriate stories, songs, movement activities and fingerplay as early literacy skills are built.
- October 23 & 30: Outdoor Preschool Explorers, 1 pm on October 23, 11 am on October 30 at Ellsworth McAfee Park for ages 4-5. Story time to explore a STEAM related concept through stories, songs and an activity or demonstration.
