Protect your house when you are away

Protect your house when you are away

It’s summer and many residents have vacations planned. The last thing you want to worry about is your house. Did you know that the Northborough Police Department offers random, courtesy checks while you are away? There is no charge for this service.

Complete the House Check Form or call (508) 393-1515 and include contact information on who to notify if they find a problem.

Other ways to protect your house while you are away:

  • Have your paper delivery suspended
  • Request a temporary “hold” on your mail
  • Use programmable timers to allow your lights, radio and/or television to simulate your everyday habits
  • Postpone anticipated deliveries of parcels or have a neighbor be on the lookout
  • Arrange to have your lawn mowed
  • Leave a vehicle parked in your driveway
