The Town of Northborough will hold a Purple Heart Sign Dedication ceremony on Tuesday, August 31 at 11 a.m. at Ellsworth McAfee Park on Route 135.
Northborough is a designated Purple Heart Town as designated by the National Military Order of the Purple Heart. The unveiling and dedication of the official Purple Heart signs recognize the sacrifice of those who are Purple Heart recipients and their families. The signs will be installed along key routes into town.
The public is invited to attend a short dedication ceremony, which will include the playing of the National Anthem and comments from Purple Heart recipients. The Purple Heart is presented to men and women of all military services that have been injured or killed in action against an enemy of the United States.
