Rotary Club virtual trivia night benefits Haiti earthquake relief efforts

The Rotary Club of Northborough presents a Trivia Night fundraiser for Partners in Health‘s Haitian earthquake relief efforts. The virtual event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 26, 8-9:30 p.m.

On August 14, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck southern Haiti. It is estimated that over 2,200 people died, thousands were injured and homes were destroyed. Tropical storm Grace hit the region shortly after, which hampered recovery efforts, and the region also continues to battle COVID-19.

Northborough resident and Rotary Club member Leslie Harrison has been connected to Haiti since 2014, and has participated in twelve volunteer trips. She has shared that passion with the Rotary Club, who has committed to helping with various projects and efforts in Haiti.

So, grab your friends, family, and colleagues and get ready to take on the Trivia Quizmaster.

Register online for a minimum donation of $20/per participant. Additional donations are welcomed. Early registration will assist Partners in Health with their urgent efforts, including funding six additional mobile ultrasound machines needed to diagnose and care for people with internal injuries, which are common after earthquakes. The ultrasound machines cost $15,000 each.

Teams may be made up of no more than 10 devices. You can form your own team or be assigned to one. Since this event is virtual, participants can be from anywhere.

All players meet up on a Zoom meeting (link to be provided after registration), and each team will be given its own breakout room to discuss answers to the questions given by the Trivia Quizmaster.

Questions on the event can be emailed to lrmharrison@charter.net or call/text 508-631-5692.
