School District adds COVID Dashboard

Students in the hybrid learning model have all had their first days of in-school learning after over six months. Everyone is getting used to the new protocols and safety measures needed to keep everyone healthy. How are the schools really doing with COVID cases?

The Northborough Southborough Public School District created a COVID dashboard that is updated twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. The numbers are based on state data.

Currently, Northborough’s status is yellow and Southborough’s is red – statuses that are based on the average daily incidence rate per 100,000 population in the last 14 days. Red status is based on if there are more than 8 cases per 100,000 population.

If the overall number of cases in town increases, schools will not automatically close and revert back to remote learning. Each reported positive school case will be assessed individually. In-school transmission as determined by the District’s COVID Response Team is key.

The District, with 4,122 students and 815 staff members, has one remote case and three in-person cases reported on the dashboard, which was last updated on October 7.
