The Northborough Senior Center located at 119 Bearfoot Road continues to offer programs for the town’s senior citizens.
- Free AARP Free Tax Preparation at the Northborough Senior Center on Wednesdays, February 1 -April 12. Please register to schedule your appointment, 508-393-5035. AARP volunteers will be at the Senior Center to offer free in-person tax preparation services. The program does not discriminate in any way, but is intended for low to moderate income taxpayers, with a focus on the elderly.
- YOUNG AT HEART – Award Winning Documentary on Tuesday, February 21 at 5 p.m. The event is free and a light meal will be served. Please register by calling 508-393-5035. This documentary is based on the Young @ Heart Chorus, a group of New England senior citizens who perform rock and pop songs to audiences worldwide. Plans are under way to launch a similar chorus (tentatively titled “Rocking the Boroughs”) at the Northborough Senior Center. Your support, ideas and voices are requested.
- BORROWING FROM THE LIBRARY ON YOUR IPAD, KINDLE, CELL PHONE on Monday, March 6 and Monday, March 20 at 1 p.m. The program is free but please register by calling 508-393-5035. Did you get a Kindle, IPad, or smartphone for the holidays and want to read or listen to audiobooks on it, but aren’t sure where to start? Spend an hour with the staff from the Northborough Library and we’ll show you how easy it is! Bring all the devices that you want to use. We’ll talk about online offerings like Hoopla, Libby, and Kanopy.
- HAND PAINTING WITH ANNE HUNTER on Thursday, March 9 at 1 p.m. Registration and payment of $20 is required by Thursday, March 2. Call 508-393-5035 to register. Anne Hunter is returning with this special spring project. All levels of artists are welcome. The picture is pre-sketched for you, then Anne will take you step-by-step from base painting to shading and highlighting techniques to complete this easy spring project.
