The Northborough Senior Center continues to offer a variety of services, classes and other social opportunities to the community. It also offers partnerships with healthcare professionals and support groups.

Here are some highlights:

  • Free hearing screenings on Tuesday, November 9, 1 p.m. at the Senior Center by appointment only. Call 508-393-5035.
  • A free Low Vision support group meets on Thursday, November 18, 1 p.m. and is held in person. Register with the Senior Center at 508-393-5035.
  • The Northborough Fire Department SeniorSAFE program is geared towards smoke and CO detector inspection, battery replacement and general fire safety in the homes of the senior population. Call Fire Fighter/Paramedic Peter Galas at the Northborough Fire Department at 508-393-1537 or email pgalas@town.northborough.ma.us.
  • Massachusetts law requires customers age 75 and older to renew their driver’s license in person. Senior Hours are available at many of the RMV locations for customers age 65 and older from 9-10 a.m. Make an online appt or email MassDOTRMVSeniors@dot.state.ma.us.
  • Technology Tuesdays on November 9 and 30, 3:30-6 p.m. Algonquin Regional High School student volunteers will be available to help you with any questions you have on how to use your E-reader, laptop, cellphone, iPad or other technology. Sign up for one-on-one assistance at the Senior Center or call 508-393-5035.
  • Northborough Helping Hands Association offers free durable medical equipment to Northborough residents and their families for short or long-term use. Available equipment includes wheelchairs, transport chairs, canes and walkers, commodes, high rise toilet seats and arms, bath chairs and benches, bed rails, long reach grabbers, bed trays and tables.   • The Senior Tax Workoff program is offered by the town to utilize the knowledge and skills of residents for credit towards property tax bill. Learn more about the eligibility requirements by calling the Senior Center at 508-393-5035.
